TIAR Advisory Board
An Advisory Board comprising members of industry,
and the joint venture partners, the University
(UTAS) and the Tasmanian Government Department
of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment
(DPIPWE), undertake the following functions:
1. Provide advice to the Joint Venture Partners in respect of:
· management structure of TIAR
· operating policies for TIAR
· supporting infrastructure
required by TIAR to deliver its outputs
· internal funding allocations
within TIAR
· remuneration of the Director
of TIAR
· performance of the Director
of TIAR
· remuneration of the TIAR Board
members
2. Endorse the TIAR budget
3. Provide active consideration to:
· the strategic direction of
TIAR and the setting of the TIAR Strategic Plan
· the TIAR budget strategy
· setting priorities for TIAR
research, development and extension
· assessing the performance
and effectiveness of the industry advisory groups (formerly known as ARACs)
· identifying new directions
for TIAR
· reporting of TIAR performance
and monitoring of performance measures
· developing a promotion strategy
for TIAR and advocating for TIAR
4. Oversight the actions of the TIAR Director with respect to:
· TIAR’s Operational Plan
· the application of the TIAR
Budget
· TIAR’s research, development
and extension programs
· communication of research
outputs and application of research outputs
