SheepConnect-Tasmania

Sheep grazingSheepConnect-Tasmania is the third phase of Australian Wool Innovation’s nine year investment in extension for the Tasmanian sheep and wool industries.

The earlier program phases were called the the 8x5 Wool for Profit Program, and the Program has been highly regarded by local sheep and wool enterprises.  The 8x5 Program gained national and international recognition for efforts in identifying gaps in public and private extension service delivery to the sheep industry in Tasmania, and the implementation of actions to remedy those deficiencies.

The 8x5 Program conducted learning activities leading to high levels of adoption of proven practices and technologies that had either not been applied in the past, or had been forgotten.  The Program was also recognised for innovation in addressing client needs, and holding up industry morale during the adversity of the unprecedented drought.
